This complex composition presents the abundant pleasures that Florida offers, but also more personal treasures that are not tied to geography. The title is borrowed from the book pictured in the upper left - “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp. The background montage of dried leaves, postcards and childrens’ art brings to mind trompe d’oeil paintings of the nineteenth century by artists such as William Harnett. A huge glass jar of sea shells, a fragrant gardenia on an orange Turkish towel and ixora under a glass cloche are some of the gifts of Florida for which I am grateful.

The original watercolor painting measures 22” x 26”. It is available as a fine art giclee print in two sizes. The original watercolor painting is sold matted with no frame. Giclee prints are unmatted and unframed.
