Summer Set Lip

Summer Set Lip

from $105.00

This collage interprets the first line of one of my favorite poems, “The Poppy” by Francis Thompson. “Summer set lip to earth’s bosom bare and left the flushed print in a poppy there”. The hot flaming color of the poppies in midsummer heat comes to life in this poem, and in the collage. Like poppies, the poem is sensual and profoundly deals with the role of the poet.

The original watercolor painting measures 19” x 13.5”. It is available as a fine art giclee print in the same size. The original watercolor painting is sold matted with no frame. Giclee prints are unmatted and unframed.
